The reason leadership community members quietly leave in year two

Nobody complains on the way out. They just stop opening your emails. Year one is easy. A member joins for the room, comes to two events, meets interesting people, and feels good about it. They renew on that feeling. Year two is different. By then they are asking a quieter question: who did I actually meet here, and what came of it? Most communities cannot answer that. They can tell you the member attended four sessions and rated the last one 8 out of 10. They cannot name a single conversation that mattered. So the member answers it themselves, and the answer is usually thin. Nice people, good panels, no outcome. They do not write in to say so. They stop opening the email, skip one event, and let the renewal lapse. You find out from finance. Check the promise before they do The networking promise is the one thing nobody audits. Fix that with three questions, asked at month nine, before renewal is on the table: Who have you met through us this year? Which of those conversations mattered?...
